the syrup:

medium lemons

halve lemons lengthwise, slice thinly
crosswise; discard ends

granulated sugar
add
  • mash mixture using potato masher in large bowl
    • until sugar dissolved and
    • all the juice is out of the lemons, about 4 min
the lemonade:

water or selzer
add to the syrup
  • pour over ice in individual glasses
  • if desired, substitute 6 limes for 3 lemons
