1 2	lb qt	green dried split peas ham stock	wash and pick over split peas, add stock and bring to a simmer
3	ea	medium carrots	scrape, dice, and add
2	ea	medium onions	peel, dice, and add
1/2	t	powdered clove	add
1-2	c	diced ham	add
cook a couple of hours, adding liquid as required keep head above blankets recent usage substitutes veggie broth for ham stock
