thawed and dried

phyllo dough
thaw and keep covered
  • butter pan, and layer in 5 to 7 sheets phyllo, one at a time, sprinkling butter on phyllo, no need to coat entirely, and allowing edges to hang over pan
  • add cheese/spinach mix in clumps; do not spread
  • repeat above, using 2 to 4 sheets phyllo each time
  • save 6 to 8 sheets for top, coat top layer with butter
  • cut off excess phyllo hanging over edge
  • sprinkle warm water over pie
  • bake 45 to 60 min at 350 deg F
