beat whites to soft peaks; add sugar
gradually beat to stiff peaks; reserve

beat in

  • mix in ground nuts and zweibach crumbs
  • fold in beaten egg whites
  • spread whole nuts on top
  • bake in springform pan at 350 F for about 50 min
  • let cool; remove pan sides; sprinkle with powdered sugar
