candied peel
raisins
add to above, mix, and then let rise

add as required to make kneadable,
  • divide and form into about 36 balls, and arrange in cake pans; three 9 inch round pans should be about right
  • let rise until double in size
  • bake 12 - 15 minutes at 400 degrees F
  • brush with simple syrup (3 T sugar, 2 T water)
  • return to oven for 30 seconds
  • let cool, then decorate with cross of confectioners icing
